For the second year, winners of the 2017 WQED Writers Contest will read their stories aloud at Passages & Prose. Each of the readings will be followed by a “book signing” with the young writers. Recently, a hardcover anthology of the 2016 WQED Writers Contest winners’ works was published in collaboration with Passages & Prose by Word Association Publishers and will be available for purchase at this year’s event.

    Rocco Romano is a second grade student at St. Louise de Marillac School. His story The Sun and the Moon was the first grade, first place winner in the 2017 WQED Writer’s Contest.

    Aarav Parthiban

    Aarav Parthiban is a first grade student at Chartiers Valley Primary School. His story The Vegetable Mystery was the Kindergarten first place and Reader’s Choice winner in the 2017 WQED Writer’s Contest.

    Regan Mazur

    Regan Mazur is a fifth grade student at St. Louise de Marillac School. Her story The Girl Who Didn’t Want to Turn 10 was the fourth grade Honorable Mention winner in the 2017 WQED Writer’s Contest.

    Sol Lee is a third grade student at Easterly Parkway Elementary School. Her story The Gift from Grandma: A Time Machine Watch was the second grade, second place winner in the 2017 WQED Writer’s Contest.
